Last week, the Wematch Team was back in Tokyo to attend the Annual PASLA | RMA Conference on Asian Securities Lending: David Raccat, Co-founder & Global Head of Securities Financing, Stéphan Demoulin, Head of Sales and Relationship Management for EMEA, and Leslie Lim, our head of APAC Sales.
PASLA is a three-day event where industry leaders from the Asia-Pacific region engage in forward-looking discussions on regulatory and market influences affecting the securities lending industry. The conference program includes practical solutions to industry challenges, legal and regulatory updates, and panel discussions on topics such as the Japanese Securities Finance Market, ESG, Regional Markets, Digitization, Beneficial Owners, and the current and future state of the market in the Asia-Pacific region. Hiroshi Nakaso, Chairman of Daiwa Institute of Research, was the keynote speaker and discussed Macroeconomics and cooperation in the global economy.
The conference provided a great opportunity for our Team to engage in forward-looking discussions on regulatory and market influences affecting the securities lending industry: we hosted 30+ meetings over three days!
Overall, we found the conference to be a valuable experience. It provided an excellent platform to learn about industry challenges, network with our peers and clients, and gain insights into the regulatory and market influences affecting the securities lending industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the organizers of the Annual PASLA | RMA Conference on Asian Securities Lending in Tokyo for their excellent logistics and hospitality.
All the best,
David, Stéphan, Leslie.
