Stéphan Demoulin, Head of Sales and RM EMEA, Paris Office

We’re excited to speak with Stéphan Demoulin, who joined Wematch.live as Head of Sales and Relationship Management for the EMEA Region in February 2023, bringing a wealth of experience.

Wematch: Bonjour Stéphan! Tell us about how you got started in your career and what led you to Wematch?

Stéphan: Well, I followed in my father’s footsteps initially and went into finance. Then, David Raccat, whom I’d networked with for years, reached out about an opportunity at Wematch. The role seemed like an exciting new challenge at an innovative fintech firm, so I decided to take the leap. 

Wematch: What interested you most about joining Wematch?

Stéphan: The chance to take on a new challenge in the fintech space appealed to me. After years on trading floors, I was intrigued by Wematch’s modern tech approach to finance. 

Wematch: What do you find most meaningful about your work here on a daily basis? 

Stéphan: Without a doubt, the people here make the job meaningful. My teammates are incredibly smart and dedicated. The open, collegial atmosphere is also so refreshing compared to tense trading floors. Solving problems together is enjoyable. I’m also motivated by the daily challenge of showing existing and new clients new ways to utilize our platform. Every morning feels like an opportunity to demonstrate fresh benefits and the value we can provide. Continually highlighting those advantages keeps me driven.

Wematch: What accomplishments are you most proud of here so far?

Stéphan: I’m proud that we’ve been able to raise Wematch’s profile and reputation within the fixed-income marketplace. Getting the word out about our innovative offerings to more institutions has been gratifying.

Wematch: How specifically is Wematch providing growth opportunities for you?

Stéphan: Wematch’s fresh approach forces me to look at things through a new lens. Finding creative fintech solutions to market challenges stretches my thinking. I’ve grown in my ability to innovatively solve problems.

Wematch: What motivates you and inspires you daily?

Stéphan: Seeing real tangible results from our work is a huge motivator. Knowing our team’s efforts make an impact in markets keeps me driven.

Wematch: If you could master any skill, what would it be and why?

Stéphan: Learning to be patient and avoid frustration when progress seems slow. Sometimes results take time, and patience is key.

Wematch: Finally, your career goals for the next 3-5 years? 

Stéphan: My goal is for us to become the top TRS and securities lending firm in the market, and stay #1 long-term. With our amazing team, I’m confident we can get there!
