Today, we’re thrilled to spotlight Lihi Bitton Benifla, our phenomenal Head of HR based in Tel Aviv. Lihi shares her inspirational career journey, her contributions to Wematch, and what motivates her each day.

Wematch.live: Hi Lihi! To start, can you tell us about your background and what led you to your role at Wematch?

Lihi: Of course! I’m a lawyer by training, specialising in labour law. But my true passion has always been connecting with people. I was looking for my next adventure when fate brought me together with my now-manager at an industry event. We had a fantastic conversation, and the rest is history! I was drawn to Wematch’s vision and the chance to grow with a startup.

Wematch.live: Connecting with people seems central to what motivates you. What specifically piqued your interest in joining Wematch? 

Lihi: The inspiring vision coupled with the opportunity for personal and professional development. The company was much smaller when I joined, allowing me to take on more responsibilities and see my ideas come to life. I felt I could keep learning and contributing in a meaningful way.  

Wematch.live: It sounds like the chance to grow and take on more was very appealing. Walk us through a typical day in your role. What’s most enjoyable about it?

Lihi: Without a doubt, the People of Wematch make each day enjoyable! Having inspiring colleagues fuels my own growth. From recruitment to talent development and global HR coordination, no two days are the same. It’s dynamic and enriching.

Wematch.live: It’s wonderful to hear how much you enjoy engaging with your colleagues. Reflecting on your time here so far, what accomplishments make you most proud?

Lihi: I’m proud that as we’ve grown, we’ve maintained our special culture. Fostering connections with a globally dispersed team is both challenging and rewarding. We host weekly virtual meetings to keep us aligned across borders, and sometimes to have some fun!  

Wematch.live: Maintaining that special culture across borders is impressive. How do you feel Wematch has supported your professional development?

Lihi: Immensely. The startup rhythm exposes me to diverse responsibilities. I handle recruitment, employee engagement, benefits, and more. It’s been incredibly developmental.  

Wematch.live: What do you love most about the culture at Wematch?

Lihi: The transparency stands out. People feel comfortable reaching out to leadership about anything. It creates an open, supportive environment that I really appreciate.

Wematch.live: Transparency and openness are so valuable. What motivates you daily? Any special sources of inspiration? 

Lihi: My family, especially my husband. Despite challenges, he perseveres and impresses me daily. His resilience motivates me tremendously.

Wematch.live: When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your time?

Lihi: Staying active is important, so I try to hit the gym several times a week. Pilates is my favourite! I also enjoy catching up with friends and travelling when I can. Some guilty pleasures are binge-watching reality TV and keeping up with the Kardashians!
